Gastroenterology

The endoscopy unit of this institute is functioning after arrival of endoscopy system since 2020, but the Gastroenterology department started function after recruitment of first full time DM gastroenterologist, Dr Gautam Nath, in 2023 as Assistant Professor. Currently more than 300 endoscopy cases were taking place in the department each month including upper GI, Lower GI, ERCP. Various GI interventions for malignancy patients were also performed including guided Ryles’, tube insertion, dilatation of post operative strictures, metallic stenting

The surgical oncology residents are taking up cases with the supervision of departmental faculty. Apart from interventions, gastroenterology OPD services are also provided to patients on weekly basis.
